"Proud"

In my last entry I promised to show the little bag I made on my workshop last sunday. So here it is:
Backside
I did it a little different than it was teached in class. But that´s something I often do. :o)
I´ve been working on a LO the last days. I recognized that in my albums I don´t have much about those people that are important in my life. That´s why I decided to do a page about my mom.
The journaling is on a tag that is hidden behind the picture:
The title of the page is "PROUD to be your daughter". In my jourmaling I describe why I love my mom and why I am proud to be her daughter. You know I thing my mom is the best mom! ;o)
Btw. did you see this shop: By design scrapbook boutique I know everybody posted about it but it really is awesome! I just wish I could vistit that store one day!

Workshop with Karen Russell

I was to a workshop-day with Karen Russell yesterday and it was just great! I love the stuff Karen creates for Creative Imaginations a lot and she is such a nice person! I had so much fun just listening to the stories she told!
She first tells some stories about herselve and how she started scrapbooking. She had some of her LOs with her to show. They were really beautiful and there were so many things to discover on them and she gave a lot of tipps along the way!

The first project we did was a LO were you could turn up a part of it to hide the journaling or more pictures. The special thing about it was a bag (for more photos or other stuff) that is hiding in this flap. Karen used a 12x4 picture. I didn´t have that kind of pictures so I choose two pics of my boyfriend.

The next project was something to show how to use many photos on a LO. And those pics don´t have to be the same size and don´t have to be all black and white OR colored. I choose just colored pics because I didn´t find the time to develpoe black and white ones too.

On the right side of this LO is a flap too. On both LOs we used Karens great new stuff and the fabulous overlays from her! And I absolutly adore her new scalloped papers! They are so cute!!!
Karen explaines everything step by step and you get enough time to complete everything. And she explaines how to created your page protector to show all the specials on the page without getting the LO out of the page protector every time you wanna look at it. I just didn´t do the journaling but I will add it the next days!

In the afternoon we created a little purse for a minialbum. That class was teached by Heike Lenz, a german shop-owner. That was fun too. I´m really sorry that I forgot to take a picture! *shame on me* I will take it tonight and post it!
I really had a wunderful day - lots of fun, meeting great people (known and unknown) and learning a lot!
Have a great day!

Tagged!

Ok, Abby and Kate just tagged me. They explained how it works: I have to post the rules (which I do right now *g*), write seven random things about me and then tag seven others to do the same. Then leave a comment in their blog that you have tagged them. Ok? :o)
So, here´s my list:
1. I would love to have a dog but unfortunatly I didn´t have enough time for it. :o(
2. I LOVE ice-cream!!! I couldn´t resist a cup - especially if it´s Ben & Jerrys! *yummi*
3. I like to write by hand... but I didn´t like my handwriting most of the times!
4. I went to summercamps every summer since I was 8 years old. Later I´ve been one of the leaders of those summercamps (till I was ~21 years old).
5. I would love to live in the United States for a longer time.
6. I adore x-mas and love to "deck the halls" to celebrate it!
7. My hair lookes like a lighting strikes me in the 80´s!
Ok, now I have to tag seven other persons but unfortunatly all people I know (writing english) already got tagged. :o( So here´s my shorter list: Michelle, Suzy, Denise and another Denise!
I joined a tagbook-swap and really had fun doing mine. I choose the theme "My garden" because I know that the person that got it is a big gardening-fan!

I did a card for another swap too that I would like to share because it´s the first card for a long time that I really like when it´s done! ;o)

I´ll do a workshopday next sunday and Karen Russell will be there to teach us. Another scrapbooking celebrity I got to know! *yeah* I like her work and I´m really looking forward to it. The LO we will do looks awesome! I´ll tell you about it!

Have a great day - Coni

New Blog!

Hi and welcome to my new blog! I was thinking about using an "official" blog for some time and now I finally did it! I liked the blog I had before but when I wanted to change something I always had to ask my boyfriend Andi to help me. I think with this new blog I don´t need his help anymore (or maybe less at least ;o) ).
I hope you like the style, come back often and leave a comment if you like to do so!
Take care!

PS: I will upload the "older" posts soon! So you could read everything from its beginning! :o)

Meeting Lisa Bearnson

I´ve been to the Netherlands for a day of workshops. My sister Carola, my friend Nicole and I started early in the morning to go there and came back late at night (or early the next morning ;o) ). But we had a great day and that was worth all the sleep we missed and the long drive to get there!
First I had a workshop with the new stuff from Elsie Flannigan. I was a little disappointed because I didn´t like the colorcombination with red and light blue that much. But it was ok, because I wanted to try something new and that´s what I did! I think I mostly scrap a clean and simple way and Elsie´s stuff is just the opposit. ;o) Here´s my result:

I changed the LO a little and didn´t use the button- and other stickers we had been given. The stickers were pink and I don´t like to use pink with red. *brrr*
The next workshop was with Cosmo Crickets Souvenir-Line. I really love the stuff and the little folded album we made. Unfortunatly mine isn´t ready to show yet. I´m still looking fort he pics I wanna use. But I will show it when I´m done! :o)
My most important reason to go there was Lisa Bearnson. She hosted two workshops I visited. I liked her a lot! She is such a nice and friendly person! And the projects she made where great too! I loved that she told why she is scrapbooking and how to do the journaling. I´m always a little unsure what to write on my LOs. It was awesome for me to meet her! Maybe it´s crazy but I felt a little like a kid standing in front of santa clause! *lol* Maybe it´s because it isn´t usual in Germany to meet scrapbboking celebrities. ;o)

The first project she teached was a Filefolder named „My simple truth“. I´m not done with the journaling but I finished it at home and can show it. I will do the journaling later this week to comlete my project. Again I changed it a little.

The other workshop was an Album „About Me“. I loved the stuff we got to do it. It´s a complete Album with stuff to do 20 LOs! Mine isn´t ready but if you wanna see it you could see Lisas version HERE. Here sister was also there. She is a really nice person too and has an awesome handwriting! She wrote my name across the box of the album. I wish I could write and doodle like her!

We really had a great day and had a lot of fun! I´m sure I will not forget that day!
Last weekend I found some time to stamp a little and made some new cards:
This House Mouse-stamp I bought during my vacation to Florida. In the same shop I found another stamp. Although it´s really hot here in Germany lately I had to use it. :o)

Isn´t that little snowman cute? It really warms my heart! :o)
Have a nice day! - Coni

Back from Florida

Since a few days we are home again. We had a great vacation to Fort Lauderdale and I wish it would not have ended this fast!We had a room in a small hotel at the beach in Lauderdale-by-the-sea and really liked it. From our room we could see the beach and the ocean.

We went to the beach several times, laying in the sand or going for a walk. But we also did some trips. We went to Disneyworld for two days. The first day we were at Magic Kingdom to visit Mickey Mouse and his friends and the other day we went to see the Disney-MGM-Studios. Both days were wonderful and we had a lot of fun!

Another time we went to the Everglades to see some aligators. Unfortunatly we couldn´t see many of them because the water was high. But at least we saw a few ones. Here´s the proof:

We also enjoyed the trip because of the airboat we took to went into the Everglades. It was a lot of fun to nearly fly over the water! :o)
And we visited Miami too. We went to Bayside but I was very surprised to see Miami again. There are so many high buildings with condomniums build there and they are still building new ones! I was a little disappointed because I loved that Miami wasn´t doing that but now they do it more and more. :o( But we went to the Hard Rock-Café which was all the same and ate HUGE burgers *mjamm* :o)

I used our vacation to the states to visit some LSS and some of the big shops like Michaels oder AC Moore. It was great to have so much Scrapbooking-Stores around! Here in Germany there are just a few shops that sell Scrapbooking-stuff and they are far away! And I love to have the possibility to buy stuff at supermarkets like Walmart or Target. I wish I had this chance in Germany too...
We really loved our vacation and we are sure we´ll go there again! We love the landscape, the people and everything we saw!
I know I´m crazy but I scraped a little in Florida too. :D Here are two of the LOs I did there:

I will close for today with a picture of a sunrise from our hotelroom. Thanks to jetlag we were up very eary! ;o)

Have a great day! - Coni

Just a few more days...

...and my boyfriend Andis and my vacation to Fort Lauderdale / Florida will start. I can´t wait to get there again! I hope we´ll have a great trip! :o)I didn´t wrote much here but I was very busy. There´s so much to do - especially when you plan to go on vacation. But I found some time to be creative so I can share something new. Whoohoo! I made a box for my Big Picture-class "Goals 101". I really love the class! It´s great! I will write my goals on little LOs and put them inside.

The picture is aweful but I took them late yesterday and there was not enough light to take better ones. :o(
I also made a new LO. I´m not sure if I like it but I don´t know what to change maybe. So if you have any suggestions just leave a comment! :o)

I had to make a frame for a swap and was really late. But when I started it in the end it was so much fun that I did a second one for myself too. The day I did it I got my new stamps from Magnolia. Those stamps are really popular here in Germany at the moment. I bought that girl (her name is Tilda) and the fence. When I did the little scene I didn´t have any idea to make a greeting card with it. So it went into my frame. :o) I´m sure one day I´ll change the picture and make a card of it. But at the moment Tilda is feeling pretty fine in the frame on my desk! *lol*

The last things I can show are a few card I did. I need a lot of card for birthdays this month and these are the first ones. I know I don´t have enough cards right now but at least it´s a start! ;o)

Hugs,Coni
